Carolin Klosterkamp joined Deutsche Beteiligungs AG in 2022.
She started her career in 2019 at Roland Berger, where she worked as a Senior Consultant in Restructuring, Performance, Transaction & Transformation. She has two years of experience in private equity.
Carolin Klosterkamp holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Management from the University of Mannheim.
Managing Director
Ragnar Geerdts joined Deutsche Beteiligungs AG in 2012 and became a Managing Director in 2017.
Ragnar Geerdts has over 12 years of experience in private equity. He has extensive knowledge of the automotive supplier and telecommunications industries and in mechanical and plant engineering. He was involved in numerous investments and disinvestments and led the investment process in in-tech, vitronet, netzkontor, von Poll Immobilien, BTV Multimedia, Solvares, DING and DGA. In these companies he sits on the advisory councils. Before joining Deutsche Beteiligungs AG Ragnar Geerdts worked in the area of M&A at Bayer AG and at Deutsche Post AG.
He holds a degree in Business Administration from Freie Universität Berlin, and also studied at the Beijing Foreign Studies University.
Managing Director
Lucas Herbert joined Deutsche Beteiligungs AG in 2007 and became a Managing Director in 2015.
Lucas Herbert has 17 years of experience in the private equity sector. During this time, he has gained extensive knowledge, particularly in the IT services/software, mechanical and plant engineering and healthcare sectors. Lucas Herbert has been involved in a large number of corporate investments and disposals. These include Romaco, Spheros, Gienanth and Silbitz. He also led the investment process in blikk, Cloudflight and operasan.
He holds a Master of Science in Business Administration from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, and also studied at the Maastricht University and the University of Newscastle, Australia.
Director
Linda Hoegener Schinwald was first employed at Deutsche Beteiligungs AG from 2014 to 2019. With her return in 2020, she has been strengthening the team of Deutsche Beteiligungs AG once more.
Between 2019 and 2020, Linda Hoegener Schinwald worked at Armira as an Investment Director. Before joining DBAG in 2014, she worked for the car sharing provider Citeecar, a portfolio company of Mangrove Capital Partners. She began her career in France at ArcelorMittal, focusing on business development. Linda Hoegener has eleven years of experience in private equity.
Linda Hoegener Schinwald studied engineering at the University of Technology in Munich and at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. She earned her MBA degree at the Collège des Ingénieurs Paris.

Thomas Weber joined DBAG in 2014 and is Head of Business Development.
Previously, Thomas Weber served at PwC, Commerzbank and Concept Consulting, a mid-market consultancy firm. In addition to business development, he focused on human resources.
Thomas Weber holds a degree in Law from the Goethe University, Frankfurt.
Our shareholders and the investors in DBAG funds have entrusted capital to us. They expect us to invest it in promising companies. For that reason, it is important that we have, qualitatively and quantitatively, a well-filled pipeline of attractive investment opportunities at all times. That requires an entire range of marketing activities: out of some 300 investment opportunities, transaction ideas or offers, we result four to six corporate investments each year.
Directing this process is one of my key responsibilities. My colleagues on the investment team are frequently working to full capacity on their primary assignment, the accomplishment of transactions. I therefore organise the collaboration with investment banks and M&A consultants and look for platforms for interacting with capital-seeking companies.
Beyond that, I attend to our network of industrial experts, which mostly consists of former board members and CEOs experienced in the sectors we invest in. They support our team by contributing their knowledge. This network needs to change constantly to maintain its effectiveness and I am responsible for steering that transition.
Furthermore, even a private equity company must engage in marketing. The Business Development Manager represents Deutsche Beteiligungs AG at events or fairs and communicates its investment strategy to the market. This allows me to further support DBAG’s market communication and presence.
To us, an industrial expert is someone who, thanks to his or her in-depth knowledge of the industry, backs us in preparing investment decisions and supporting portfolio companies. Industrial experts advise the investment team as it analyses potential investments and they provide support as a strategy is developed for each of the companies. In addition, seats on supervisory boards or advisory councils are often filled by industrial experts.
